On Friday I met up with Deanne Tyrell, who runs Three Realms Yoga, and Shaun Matthews at the old Macro in Bondi Junction. I enjoyed meeting Deanne and the three of us shared some ideas on working together. She shared some insights into the differences between the Paddington career women and the Bondi yoga students, who are most focused on their health! It turns out that Deanne and I both have daughters who do Athletics training at the same place and she had seen me before picking my daughter up after training! We were obviously meant to meet.
On Saturday, Jason and I flew to Melbourne for my friend’s 40th birthday party. While we were there, I took the opportunity of catching up with Stephen Penman. Stephen and I both studied to be yoga teachers with Sri Raju Govind many years ago. Stephen also spoke about his Yoga Survey at our second Yoga conference in 2005. It was great chance to learn a little more about the Melbourne Yoga community from an ‘insider’ and hear about Stephen’s role as CEO of ACNEM (Australian College of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine.
