Well, the weekends seem to get busier – not quieter!
On Friday night Jason and I attended a Soul Session. Soul Sessions is the brain child of Eloise King, a journalist for Body + Soul, which is a health and lifestyle supplement in the Sunday Telegraph. Soul Sessions run along the ‘dinner and speaker’ model with speakers who talk on health and self-development. Eloise King has had a whole range of different speakers, including Duncan Peak of Power Yoga fame.
We attended The Perfect Life Soul Session, which was led by Tim Levy, with the promise of creating the Perfect Life! Jason has studied and implemented a whole range of these visioning and goal-setting tools for manifesting the perfect life so we weren’t expecting anything special. But we were pleasantly surprised by Tim’s session and we embraced the practical section, and the opportunity to create our perfect life on a piece of A3 paper, with great gusto. Needless, to say, Enlightened Events featured heavily in the career/work section!
The production was a fantastic display of dance, colourful costumes and an interesting story line, which gave a different perspective of Indian history, from the 17th century, during the British Raj and into modern times.
On Sunday I was off to join Noah Maze, senior Anusara Yoga teacher, in a workshop, organised by the lovely Ananda Trettin. It was great to meet Noah and learn a little more about the Anusara Yoga method. I was regretting the late night, Greek dinner that we’d had in Enmore the night before after The Nautch Girls!
Today, I had a lovely chat with Dr. Maarten Immink. I first met Maarten many years ago when he was living in Sydney and teaching candle lit Yoga classes at the Satyananda Manly Yoga ashram. We discussed how we could work together in the future. He has a PhD in Exercise Science and works as a lecturer and researcher at the University of South Australia. He has conducted researched into Yoga interventions for neurological motor impairments. He has a special interest in neuroscience and the brain. It was great to reconnect with him after all these years!
