Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy Teachers Sydney
The Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy is a unique opportunity for Yoga teachers to train as a Yoga Therapist. This course is recognised by the Australian Association of Yoga Therapists (AAYT). This course will be taught by some of Australia's most highly qualified and respected Yoga Therapists, including Annette Loudon, Sal Flynn, Louise Godfrey & Liz Williams.
Sal FlynnSal Flynn is a Yoga therapist, psychotherapist and educator. Her formal and informal training blends the disciplines of Yoga, psychotherapy, education, contemplative practice, the arts and mind/body awareness practices. Underpinning her work is nearly 30 years of practice and study in the eastern traditions, along with education and internships in Western psychotherapy and Yoga therapies both in Australia and India. Annette Loudon has been teaching Yoga with a focus on yoga therapy for 18 years and practising Yoga since incorporating it into her life when living in a village in Bali in 1975. She completed a Masters of Medical Sciences degree by researching the effects of Yoga and on women with Breast Cancer related Lymphoedema and is one of Australia’s leading experts in Yoga and breast cancer. Annette has specialised in teaching people with various types of special needs, either within her classes or as specialist classes. These have included people with MS, people in wheelchairs, the profoundly deaf, intellectually disabled youth, people on probation, disabled athletes, the NSW cerebral palsy soccer team, people with back pain and people with many other illnesses. Louise Godfrey is the principle yoga teacher and yoga therapist at Sri Yoga and Meditation. She is a highly qualified Yoga therapist and a student Barbara Brian who studied with TKV Desikachar. Louise undertook the first ever KHYF (Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Foundation) Yoga therapy Training program. The program was five years long and is considered one of the world’s leading Yoga therapy training programs. She has a special interest in mental health and preventative health. Liz Williams is a highly experienced health educator and has been working in the health sector for almost 40 years. In the past 17 years, she has trained Yoga teachers, nurses, allied health and medical staff as well as community groups. During this time, she has lectured at universities and Tafes at a number of tertiary institutions. Her relevant areas of speciality include anatomy and physiology, orthogeriatics, rehabilitation, fall prevention, mental health (aged care), acute adult pain and pathophysiology. Liz has a Masters of Clinical Science in Aged Care and Healthy Ageing and a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health. Liz has worked closely with physiotherapists to develop rehabilitation and fall prevention exercise programs. She has extensive experience and knowledge of anatomical function, proprioception, muscular and joint function, physical assessment and the implementation of movements to accommodate physical limitations.
